Privacy notice
This site is run by a private individual in Abu Dhabi, not by a company. It collects very little, keeps it briefly and shares it with nobody. This notice explains exactly what happens to anything you send, in plain language rather than legal shorthand.
Who is responsible for your data
The site is operated by a private person based at 18 Al Bateen Street, Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. There is no registered company behind it, no corporate group and no parent organisation. The telephone number published on the contact page reaches the same person who decides what happens to any information you send through this site.
Because the operation is this small, there is no data protection officer and no internal department handling enquiries. If you have a question or a request about your information, telephone the number on the contact page or use the form, and it will be dealt with directly. Requests of this kind are treated as a priority and are not passed to anyone else to handle.
What is collected, and when
Information is collected in only one circumstance: when you choose to fill in the contact form. The form asks for a name, a telephone number, a contact address, a subject line and your message. Nothing on the form is collected in the background, there are no hidden fields, and nothing is gathered from you while you are simply reading pages.
The web server that delivers these pages keeps standard technical records of requests, as every web server does. These contain the requesting network address, the page requested and the time of the request. They exist so the site can be kept running and protected against abuse. They are not linked to form submissions, are not used to build any profile of a reader, and are not examined unless there is a technical fault to investigate.
Why the information is used
Whatever you send through the form is used for one purpose only: to answer you. If your message asks about a route, the details are used to write a reply about that route. If you ask about a service, they are used to answer the question and, where you ask for it, to arrange the appointment. There is no other use.
Your details are never used to send marketing of any kind. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, no promotional messaging and no arrangement under which your details could be used to contact you about something you did not ask about. If you write once with a question and receive an answer, that is the end of the correspondence unless you choose to continue it.
How long it is kept
Form submissions and the correspondence that follows them are deleted within twelve months of the enquiry being closed, and usually a good deal sooner. Where an enquiry leads to a piece of paid work, the record of that work is kept for as long as is genuinely necessary to deal with any question arising from it, and then removed on the same basis.
Technical server records are kept for a short period for security and fault-finding, and are then overwritten in the ordinary course. Nothing is archived indefinitely, and there is no long-term store of readers or enquirers anywhere. When information reaches the end of its retention period it is deleted rather than anonymised and retained.
Who else can see it
Nothing is sold, rented, exchanged or shared for commercial purposes with anybody, in any circumstances. Your information is not passed to dealers, rental firms, event organisers, insurers, advertising networks or data brokers. There is no commercial relationship under which such a transfer could happen, and none will be created.
The only parties with any technical access are the hosting provider that operates the servers on which the site runs and, where you write by e-mail, the provider that carries that message. Both act only as technical suppliers under their own obligations of confidentiality, and neither is permitted to use what passes through their systems for their own purposes.
The rights you hold
You may ask what information is held about you and receive a copy of it. You may ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected. You may ask for your information to be deleted, and unless there is a specific reason it must be kept, it will be. You may ask that its use be restricted while a question about it is resolved, and you may object to a particular use.
Where you have given consent, as you do by ticking the box on the contact form, you may withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything done properly before you did. A request under any of these rights is answered within one month. There is no charge and no form to complete; a telephone call or a short message is enough.
Security, and supervision
The site is served over an encrypted connection, form submissions travel encrypted, and the small number of records that exist are held on access-controlled systems. No system is perfect, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise, but the exposure here is deliberately kept small by collecting very little in the first place and deleting it promptly.
Personal information handled through this site is dealt with in line with the personal data protection law of the United Arab Emirates. If you believe your information has been mishandled, please raise it directly first, since a small operation can usually put a problem right very quickly. You also retain the right to complain to the competent supervisory authority in the United Arab Emirates.
